March 20, 2017
20 Mar 2017

It isn’t an exaggeration to say that the climate crisis is an existential threat to every living thing on Earth. But we have the technological tools at hand to solve it – what we lack is the social and political will to act.  We need an informed, committed citizens’ movement that understands the intersections among all forms of justice work to lead the way toward change. Join us on Tuesday April 4th at 7 pm to learn about the specific threats we face, the staggering growth and affordability of renewable energy technologies, and the ways that you can participate in the People’s Climate Movement. An Interfaith Vigil for Orlando, sponsored by the Morris Area Clergy Council, will be held on Wednesday, June 15th, 8:00pm, at Church of the Redeemer, 36 South Street, Morristown. Following the Prayer Service at Redeemer, there will be a procession to the Morristown Green to read the names of the victims and to publicly demonstrate our solidarity.

Please share this information with your friends. Persons attending are encouraged to bring a candle or light source for use as we march to the Green.

For clergy: there will be reserved seating for ALL clergy/leaders in the front of the church. Clergy will not vest. Clergy will gather in the parlor of the Parish House (the building on the left, across the driveway from the church), and process in at the beginning of the service together.

Bishop Gene Robinson to visit Redeemer

April 14, 2016
14 Apr 2016

It was announced at the Annual Meeting that we will have a very special guest preacher on June 26th– the day that we will be celebrating Pride Sunday this year– the Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson, the retired bishop of New Hampshire. Bishop Robinson was the first openly (or honestly!) gay bishop ordained in the Anglican communion, in 2003. His election set off a huge controversy that continues to have ripples throughout the church today.

Bishop Robinson will preach at the 9:30 service (we will be on “summer hours” at that time) on June 26, and will speak at a free public forum the night before, on June 25th, at 7p in the church.

Join us on Sunday, April 17th during the Adult Forum (at 9a in the parlor) to meet Cinematographer (and faithful Episcopalian!) Tom Hurwitz, ASC, as he talks about one of his latest film projects, “Tiger Tiger.”  At 2p, we will host a free screening of the film.
Set in one of the least-known landscapes left on earth, Tiger Tiger is the story of a man with numbered days seeking to save an animal whose days may also be numbered. Learn more here.
“Tiger Tiger” was a 2015 winner of the William Warner Award at DC Environmental Film Festival.
